> May 15th was the deadline for submitting reports of cuts for 2007-2008 timber cutting operations. The reports have been steadily coming in and are billed each week as they are received.
> $31,673.36 in Land Use Change Tax has been billed for the '07-'08 assessing year. A total of 28.07 acres were removed from current use last year and a total of 231.6 acres of land were placed into current use.
> Avitar Associates of New England, the Town's contract assessors, completed the data collection for all of the new construction and property changes in town during the month of March. The total increase in real estate valuation for Winchester from these pick-ups, less the downward adjustments from abatement approvals, is $3,801,603.00.
> Avitar has finished reviewing all of the abatement apllications to the municipality for the year 2007 ahead of schedule. 35 applications were filed, 7 of these were denied, and 28 were approved. The Board of Selectmen will meet on 5/28/08 to review these abatement recommendations.
> The Warrant For The Collection of Property Tax was generated, printed, signed, and delivered to the Tax Collector on time on 5/15/08 for the first issue 2008 tax billing. These bills will be printed and mailed during the last week of May.
> The forms for the Low To Moderate Income Property Tax Relief are now available here at the Selectmen's office. Applicants must mail these forms by the end of June. This program is administered by the State of New Hampshire.
