There is a hearing at the New Hampshire Board of Tax and Land Appeals at 9:00AM in Concord on 7/11/08. This hearing is for Docket Numbers 22021-05PT and 22783-06PT: Amarosa Family Beach, LLC v. Town of Winchester.
The Board of Selectmen recently discovered that many Winchester properties with sewer access either had incorrect zone codes applied to the land value or had no sewer coding at all applied to the land value. After consulting with the Deaprtment of Revenue, the Board had Avitar Associates of NE, our contract assessors, correct this error. Avitar's work has now been completed. Property owners with land values that changed due to these corrections will receive a letter from Avitar that will state the new value. Property owners who feel their property is incorrectly assessed as a result of this correction may file an abatement application for the year 2008 in January 2009, before March 1, 2009.
Please note that beginning the week of July 7th, the Town Hall will be open 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM and will be closed on Fridays.
