Forest Lake was retested again today, September 12th.

All samples (from North, East, South and West around the lake) had low levels of "background" cyanobacteria. With the exception of the West sample, all samples had below 4,000 cells/mL. The background (typically not bloom forming) cyanobacteria accounting for most of this density were Gomphosphaeria and Snowella. The West sample had densities around 23,833 cells/mL of Planktothrix, this is the same cyanobacteria that bloomed during the event earlier this summer. It could be that this event has already passed, or we may see it resurface over the next several days.
